Sunset 22 February - Sheila Harness
It was really interesting to see what people are doing as they’re moving about.

Lovely to see the Humber Bridge in the distance, a welcome sight from another perspective when returning home.

The seagulls wheel past, and you start to see how still and safe the city looks; how concrete and permanent.

When I looked up at the sky my thoughts were more meaningful – my mind more spacious – the sky was almost Turneresque and a never-ending show of light and greys

I’ve never felt such tranquillity in such miserable weather – usually I much prefer to hide away from weather like this but there was something freeing about literally facing it with nothing else to worry about.
04/04/22
The people passing, the clouds moving, wind gusting, all whilst I stayed completely still.
04/04/22
With the sky full of snow it was hard to catch the sun, I almost felt I was amongst the clouds at times.
04/04/22
The views, the peace, the warmth: so familiar yet so new. What an incredible experience.
04/04/22
In the middle of a storm it was a privileged position to see the West battered by the winds and the East sheltered by the huge structure of the College.

Hard to describe but it was a feeling that dark, low clouds are only temporary but the sun itself, beyond clouds is eternally shining!
04/04/22
It began with a full moon on the west and Venus to the south. Both hardly moving, especially compared to Hull, home, below.
04/04/22
The whole sky seemed to open up on the horizon and the grey clouds evaporated and burnt orange and then pink ones replaced them.
04/04/22
As the clouds were low and racing across the sky I thought I wouldn’t be in luck but suddenly the sky cleared, so I watched with great pleasure the sunrise in its full glory!
04/04/22
I spent the first 10 minutes or so admiring the skyline, looking at the horizon, the clouds, the sky and watching the birds.
04/04/22
In memory of my friend Kim Gardner who would have been 68 today if she hadn’t passed on 15th July 2017.
04/04/22
The ‘sunrise’ was more a sun emergence – but the sky and clouds changed from mucky grey to blue with pink flashes, yellow, orange and white
04/04/22
A cloudy, windy, wet day meant I didn’t get to see the sunset but I saw a different and unexpected view of life in the city.
04/04/22
I felt so moved and humble to stand and hold watch over Hull, taking my turn, side by side with everyone.
