Sunrise 6 March - Sarah-Jayne Curry
The sun cast some wonderful oranges and pinks in the clouds as it came into view. I was drawn to watch the East side more, partly because of the sun and also because I could look out onto the Estuary and beyond towards the sea.
I felt a level of responsibility stood up there. It was as if I was a soldier on lookout to warn of any invasion by sea or attack from the sky. Perhaps that was a combination of knowing Hull’s history of being the most bombarded port in the UK and the very recent threat of Russian war. I saw a rainbow stretch from West Hull to the Humber Bridge which gave me great comfort.
