Sunrise 4 September - Katy Brough
When I booked to take part in the Vigil, I booked a sunrise slot anticipating that I would witness a Lion King style sunrise, forgetting it would be a gloomy morning in Hull. It was fantastic nonetheless. I liked seeing the city still asleep with little pieces of evidence that it was still alive. It allowed me to reflect on how lucky I have been to spend my formative years and adult life so far, here. More than I realised, each building, space and view from the box was attached to a memory or thought, many of which I hadn’t considered for so long. Whilst I love Hull and the physical spaces, it makes you realise it is the people I have been lucky to know have made it.
