 Hull is where the heart is!  What a fabulous and emotive experience Vigil was.  It was a unique combination of isolation and connectivity.  Being at a crossroads in my life, Vigil really reinforced my love for this city – the history, the beauty, the familiarity and the parts still to be discovered.  Waking up with Hull was such a privilege.  I have always been a supporter, advocate, champion and defender of this City and I feel we have now shared a really intimate time together; it has strengthened that bond.  Hull is in my blood and bones, heart and soul.  My whole life was laid out before me: Hull Royal Infirmary, MKM Stadium, Humber Bridge, the River Hull all came alive in a new way.  And, conversely, Hull got to see me for the first time alone!  I am so proud I got to watch over my city – this is where I was born and this is where I will die.  X
