Sunrise 24 December - Andrea Monaghan
I’ve lived in Hull all my life, with deep family roots in the fishing industry, so I thought Hull would hold no surprises for me – but the change of perspective revealed new things.
As the light increased, and as I stood and watched, I noticed more and more, even in the last minute of the vigil I saw new things. Railway carriages used as an office, a footpath I have never walked, a green space I didn’t know was there.
What a lovely experience, to watch the city slowly come to life on Christmas Eve.
